Teran is running into the sea fully clothed. It’s unravelling an old woolly jumper to knit a new one. It’s being guided by the elements. Making something out of nothing. It’s diving into a deep pool of swirling folklore, chasing after grandparents and their grandparents before them. Teran is the sea monster that causes the uproar between the Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea during winter – it translates to wild.
Teran is a creative platform which investigates the everyday stories and traditions of rurally-based craftspeople across the UK. It is the site of workshops, conversations and artwork that engage people with their own local histories and identities.
