These are all connecting salt as a primary material and subject, especially in relation to the sea. Much of the salt used I have made from different samples of seawater from around Papay. The work makes enquiries into sustainable industry relative to the sea, as well as sensual natural transformative processes such as evaporation, crystallisation and consumption.

Cassia Dodman is a visual artist, who studied Contemporary Art Practice at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design. She exhibited as part of the RSA New Contemporaries and has regularly been part of the ØY FESTIVAL in Papa Westray.
